[In progress...] The American Hostage Crisis by LaTonya Tarell

Did Republican President Abraham Lincoln "free the slaves"? Perhaps it is most correct and time to declare the following: Republican Statesman Frederick Douglass "negotiated the release of hostages" who were born in captivity and forced to labor without wages ... [Note to self: Include more information about his advocacy here.]

My African ancestors were the "Children of Mother Africa," kidnapped and held hostage to provide service without wages in immoral Southern labor camps called plantations. Many died in servitude before an American Civil War was fought to release ensuing generations birthed in captivity.

African-American hostages were released because it was "immoral and illegal" to hold innocents in captivity. Monetary exchanges have never made the deplorable practice acceptable. Labor camp owners -- plantation owners -- were guilty of crimes against humanity.
