“LaTonya Tarell” Whitsett — born October 25, 1966 in Washington, DC — is an African-American writer and artist. She possesses a Bachelor of Arts degree in English with concentrated studies in journalism. Ms. Whitsett, most commonly known by the pen name composed of her first and middle names, currently resides in Metro Atlanta where she has served most notably as a Deputy Public Affairs Officer with the U.S. Navy, and as a Public Affairs Specialist with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. The skill she values most as an asset is the gift of expression. “I am known to be deeply reflective and honest as regards divisive and taboo subjects such as race, religion and politics,” she shares.
